We wanted to make sure you knew about an exciting upcoming event happening in the District 30 community. Please see the invitation below from the Center of Hope International and the Community Church of Astoria.

Dear Community Members,

We are thrilled to invite you to join the Center of Hope International and the Community Church of Astoria for our 2nd Annual Black History Month Celebration. This year, we are hosting The Concert for College: A Community Black History Month Celebration to Raise Money for Our Children’s Scholarship Accounts.

Please join us on Monday, February 11, at Long Island City High School – 14-30 Broadway, Astoria, NY 11106.

The concert will begin at 7pm. Doors open at 6pm. If you choose to purchase a VIP ticket, the VIP dinner will begin at 6pm.

Performers will include Long Island City Mass Choir (composed of our two church choirs), Bishop Hezekiah Walker & Love Fellowship, and Bishop Eric Figueroa & New Life Tabernacle Mass Choir.

All of the proceeds from this event will be deposited into the NYC Scholarship Accounts of students at PS 17, PS 76, PS 171, PS 112, PS 111, Growing Up Green Charter School, Our World Neighborhood Charter School, and Voice Charter School through a donation to NYC Kids RISE.
