Dear Save for College Program Family,
We will be celebrating the results of the Residents Association’s Community Scholarship campaign. Join us to learn about the new $1,000 deposit to your child’s NYC Scholarship Account!
We are reaching out to make sure you are able to pick up free goodie bag with supplies to help make the event even more special for you and your family. Due to the blizzard this week, the opportunity to pick up your bag has been extended to this Friday, 2/5.

In their goodie bag, each student in the Save for College Program will receive:
- A copy of the children’s book Superheroes are Everywhere by Vice-President Kamala Harris for the family read-along
- One raffle ticket (winner to be announced live on February 6 – special prizes)
- Art supplies for the “I am a Superhero” Art Show – includes crayons, paper, and arts and crafts supplies so your child can create artwork that represents their superpower, to be shared during the Celebration
- You can pick up your bag between the hours of 10am and 3:30pm until this Friday, 2/5. To pick up your bag, please provide the following number at Urban Upbound: See email for your family’s number
- Each child in the Save for College Program can receive one goodie bag.
- If you are unable to pick up your child’s goodie bag during those days and times, call or text us at (718) 269-8002 so we can coordinate an alternative.
If your child would like to participate in the “I am a Superhero” Art Show, send us a picture of their artwork to [email protected] or via text to (718) 269-8002. We will display all of the children’s artwork during the celebration! If you have any questions, reply to this email or call NYC Kids RISE at (833) 543-7473. We hope to see you there! The NYC Kids RISE Save for College Program provides families, schools, and communities with a way to work together to save for their children’s futures. It’s a scholarship and savings program designed to make college more accessible and achievable for all NYC public school students—regardless of their family’s income or immigration status. The Save for College Program is a tool that families, along with their schools and neighbors, can use and customize in the way that best fits into their lives and best supports their dreams for their children. NYC Kids RISE, a nonprofit organization, manages the Save for College Program in partnership with the NYC Department of Education and the City of New York.
